Carols by Candlelight
7pm Tuesday 21st December 2010
This is usually a delightful event. The church is well worth a visit, even in the dark!. It is quite easy to get to even if the weather is bad. From the A1066 between Scole and Diss, just outside Diss, turn up the hill towards Diss Business Centre. At the top of the hill take the paved track that runs straight on to Frenze Hall.
News from
2010 Picnic
Frenze:
This year the weather was kind to us for our picnic. The walk from Thelveton was a delight, and we were accompanied by two dogs. Our new Rector, James, brought Rufus along, and Christine brought her golden labrador. Both dogs were beautifully behaved during the service, though Rufus managed to disgrace himself by purloining a piece of cake from the picnic!
Candlelight at Christmas
The Carols by Candlelight on 22nd December 2009 was, once again, a magical evening of singing carols and sharing the story of our salvation, followed by seasonal refreshments. Twenty people gathered in the cold evening having come through the snow and ice to get here. We even had some visitors from Holland, who are staying in Pulham Market for Christmas. Mince pies and mulled wine had a welcome warming effect after the service - though there was a suggestion that they should have been served first to sustain us! A total of £60.72 was raised for the work of The Churches Conservation Trust.
You don't have to wait for an event to visit this beautiful church. The key is available at any time, and you will find details of where to find it in the church porch. During the summer months the porch is home to a number of house martins, so do please take care when you visit, that they do not get trapped in the church.
Frenze Bell:
The bell hangs in a small cupola at the west end of the church. It has a diameter of fourteen and a half inches and weighs about 56 pounds. It carries the inscription +IOHN GOLDSMITH MADE MEE 1707
