Set in the heart of the village, our building is a traditional stone built church with a square tower. The church is floodlit and visible from the main road. There are six bells in the tower. In the churchyard is a pretty example of an old school which is now used as the church rooms.
The church was built in 1490. Our patron is Trinity College.
The building is open for private prayer from 8.30am to 4.30pm on most days.

Forthcoming Events:

Open Churches Week Festival Activities Saturday 31st July - Sunday 8th August

Saturday 31st July Village Fete 12 noon to 5pm.

Parish Worship:

Worship takes place in this church every Sunday, usually at 9.30 am, unless Benefice events or special services have been planned.  (Check the Services page)

During the summer on the first Sunday of the month there is a Traditional Sung Evensong at 6.30pm.

On the third Sunday of the month there is a Family Service, or “Café Church”. This service is particularly suitable for families with young children. Drinks and bacon butties are served before the service from about 9.50am. There is a special craft activity designed for primary age children, and a selection of toys for toddlers. Worship normally starts at about 10am. Music is a mix of traditional and modern hymns, children’s action songs, and prayer songs.
All other Sundays there is a Common Worship Eucharist, with robed choir, at 9.30am.

Coffee is usually served after all morning services.

Weekday services:

There is a Weekday Communion on the Thursday before the Family Service at 10.30am.

Every Saturday at 9.15 prayers are said for the parish, all those who live, work, or worship here. Everyone is welcome at these times of prayer. If you want someone special included but are unable to come along yourself, please let the Rector know, or leave a note on the prayer tree.

Following this prayer time the rector, or one of the priests, is normally available in the church rooms until about 11.00am for arranging weddings and baptisms, and for spiritual guidance.

Dickleburgh Pastoral Care group:

Members of the Ministry team conduct Weddings, Baptisms and Funerals as well as offering a Marriage Preparation Course.

The Pastoral Care group aims to supplement their work with follow up visits.

Anyone in the village is welcome to request a visit from a member of the team by contacting the Rector. During the interregnum please contact our Lay Reader, Margaret Adlam. We are particularly conscious of the needs of the housebound and elderly. Families who have arranged a Christening are visited before the Baptism Service by a member of the Team. We are also willing to offer support to the bereaved. In addition members of the Team go into the Village school and take a lead in running the “Treasure Seekers” Club. Culrose, the Residential Home, is visited regularly and a Service is held once a month.

Gale, Julia, Ruth, Mags, Mary Rose

Coffee Mornings:
On the first Saturday of every month from 10.00am to 11.30am there is a coffee morning in the church rooms next to the church. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are served. There is a good raffle, and a produce stall. Occasionally there are other stalls as the mood takes us. There is also a warm friendly atmosphere and the chance to chat to friends old and new. The rector, or curate, is there for a large part of the time. The church is also open for private prayer or for visitors to look round. Do join us if you are able.

Dickleburgh Flowers and Art Festival:
"All things bright and beautiful"

The 2008 festival was on 6th and 7th September. This was a weekend to appreciate the beauty of flowers, to marvel at the creative arrangements, and to browse pictures from our local art group. The Dahlia Society showed some amazing blooms in one of the marquees, and local craftsmen joined books and a tombola in the other. Refreshments were again well received, providing both snacks and lunches.

The Saturday night concert amongst the paintings and flowers was great fun. The children's choir excelled themselves with their rendition of extracts from Joseph, and the adult contributions were well received.

Sunday's Cafe Church amongst the flowers and art was a joyful occasion, with bacon butties and tea, coffee and squash as well as a rainbow story to celebrate "All things Bright and Beautiful".

The rain-soaked weekend discouraged some people and tower tours had to be cancelled, but there was still a good turnout and a weekend of fellowship and fun.
