50 Christmas Trees in a Church at Dickleburgh, South Norfolk

Sunday2 to Sunday 9 December 2012

10am to 7pm every day except 11th when it closes at 4pm

Opening ceremony on Saturday 3 December

An unforgettable Christmas celebration in a beautiful historic church, which dates from 1490.

A very special event full of the Christmas spirit.

Watch a short video of the 2011 festival:

50 Christmas Trees in a Church features up to 60 individually decorated trees created by local organisations. The event has a competitive edge, as each organisation has the chance to win cash prizes in the public vote. There is also a prize for the most innovative tree.

In 2011 proceeds from the festival went to Send a Cow www.sendacow.org.uk, a UK based charity that helps African families grow enough food to eat, sell their produce and develop small businesses that last.

Rev'd Norman Steer reflects on the 2011 festival. "We had a wonderful week with visitors ranging in age from 2 to 102. There were many more children than last year, who came to hear a story and sing carols. People visiting for the first time were amazed by the display of trees and lights and regulars returned because the festival has become an important part of their Christmas. People wanted to talk; there was a wonderful fellowship with visitors sharing their joys and difficulties. Our prayer tree was filled with cards and more than 800 candles were lit in memory of a loved one."

"I would like to thank all the exhibitors for their hard work in producing such an excellent ‘crop’ of trees this year, along with our volunteers for their help, including the organists and Raymond Hubbard who played his concertina every day and told Norfolk stories. Our sponsors Cherry Lane Garden Centre, Rosedale Funeral Home and TWP Designs gave us invaluable support. I would also like to thank everyone who visited who made it such a special event. We are already planning for next year with three new tree exhibitors wanting to get involved."

Dickleburgh is just off the A140 to the north of Diss. The church is on The Street, Dickleburgh’s main thoroughfare, post code IP21 4NQ.
